ABOUT THE ARTIST
Welcome to Luxe Palette Art! I’m Seetal (Sheethal) Varughese and I am an acrylic & mixed media artist. My passion is creating radiant art, whether it be through vibrant colors, metallic sheens, shimmering glazes or incorporating modeling paste to create exciting texture and dimension.
I took a very untraditional path to art world. I am originally from India, but have lived most of my life in the US. I sketched quite a bit as a child, but was pretty intimidated by the thought of adding paint to anything I drew. I was most certainly a left-brained human and I worked as an Internal Auditor in the corporate and local government realm.
After having children, I left my internal audit career. A couple of moves later, I landed in the Chicago area and signed up for a painting class one fine day. That was when I met the talented Roshel Rivellino Curtis, my mentor. My right brain subsequently kicked in, and with her guidance I began my journey as an artist!
